Before I arrived in Thailand, the CCS staff asked if I had an idea of what I'd like to do during my free time outside of volunteering. Without giving my response much thought I replied with all of the Thailand bullet point items of interest I'd seen on tourist/travel sites, and "Monk Chats in Chiang Mai" was included. Little did I know at the time, Jack [CCS Director] was customizing my cultural activities based on my personal interests since I would be the only volunteer the duration of my stay. Jack turned my bullet point item of interest into an experience I will never forget.

I would be remiss not to express my gratitude for the opportunity to have a face to face discussion with Monk Phra Bandhit. I started writing this blog entry attempting to capture the full breadth and context of the conversation. It's simply not possible, so I'll just say my experience today will stay with me a lifetime.
